After two and a half years serving together in Hungary, we are beginning our first furlough to the United States as a married couple. It has been an exciting and encouraging journey thus far. Although we have only visited a handful of churches at this early stage in the summer, it is evident that many people are excited about the work God is doing through Word of Life Hungary.
Please remember to pray for us as we travel across the country sharing about the ministry of Word of Life Hungary. Pray that we can encourage and excite churches about how they can participate in missions. Not only are we updating churches about Word of Life Hungary, but also raising ministry funds, both personal and for the Bible Institute.

On May 29th the graduating class of 2010 participated in the 15th annual graduation ceremony of the Word of Life Hungary Bible Institute. This year, thirty-one students from nine different countries came to our campus and studied God’s Word at one of the most beautiful places on earth!
Graduation day was an emotional experience, as the students said good-bye to the close friends they had made, while looking forward in anticipation of their future ministries. At the ceremony, the students were reminded to never tire of sharing the Gospel and to remain strong in the Lord.
It is exciting to think about the amazing ways the Lord will use these students in the future. Many will go back to their home countries and enter the ministry full-time. Please pray for these graduates as they begin a lifetime of faithful service for the Lord. 2009-2010 was Paul’s first full year as Director of the Bible Institute. It was most definitely a year in which we were streteched. It was one of transition, adjustment, vision casting, and great joy. Through it all, God has proven himself faithful. The Lord taught us many valuable lessons this year, and it is exciting to think about God's plans for the future. On May 21st, the Tóalmási Biblia Klub had its last meeting before the summer break. It is amazing to look back over the year and see how God has used the club, not only in our neighborhood, but throughout the whole village of Tóalmás! The club started with an average of eight children. At the end of May, over 15 children were coming on a regular basis! And who could forget the pizza-and-a-movie outreach event held last February? Over 35 children attended, and 15 made decisions to accept Jesus as their personal savior! Praise the Lord!
Although the club will not be held over the summer, please pray for us as we make preparations for the Fall. We are in great need of a main leader who will conduct the Bible story time and keep the club flowing. While Jill is the administrator of the club, she does not feel advanced enough in Hungarian to lead the actual meeting. Please pray with us for this need.
We consider it a great blessing to be a part of this exciting and growing ministry in the village. During a recent club meeting Jill overheard one of the girls begging for a snack. After a while, this little girl's friend leaned over and said “We’re not here to eat! We’re here to learn about Jesus!” What a blessing it is to see young lives changed and growing in the Lord!

In may 2010, Word of Life celebrated 20 years in Hungary! Pastors, missionaries and ministry partners from all over the world traveled many miles to help celebrate this monumental event. The weekend festivities included addresses from key individuals who were instrumental in the establishment of the work of Word of Life Hungary, (much of which took place before the fall of communism). It was exciting to hear stories recounted of how God worked in amazing ways, which no one could have ever imagined.
The Audio/Visual team produced an excellent video specifically for this event, which chronicles Word of Life’s 20 years of ministry in Hungary. It can be viewed on our website: 20th Anniversary

It is finally here! The Word of Life Hungary Bible Institute Scholarship Fund Cookbook has arrived! This new cookbook is filled with delicious recipes from our staff ladies, as well as a section for traditional Hungarian cuisine. During their summer furlough, Paul and Jill will be giving out these cookbooks as a free gift for a donation of $12 or more towards the WOL Hungary Scholarship Fund.
