Going up
to Castle Hill |
|
|
| |
We began
our special evening with a journey up the side of a mountain to the
top of Castle Hill. We took the train trolley also known as a
funicular. |

Coffee
House |

Once we
arrived to the top of Castle Hill we took a nice brisk walk to a
nearby cafe, where we had a very enjoyable conversation. This coffe
house had the opera theme, since it is located right next to a
performing arts studio. |

Fishermen's Bastion |
|
|
| |
After a
wonderful conversation over coffee, it was time for our 5:30 dinner
appointment at the Hilton. So we took another leisurely walk passing
by beautiful architecture and history of this ancient city,
including "Fishermen's Bastion," which is pictured to the right.
Fishermen's Bastion is one of the most well-known attractions of
Budapest due to it having one of the most beautiful panoramas of the
city. It just "happens" to also be located right in front of the
Hilton, where we had dinner. |

but we also had an amazing view of the Parliament Building, and
although not found in this picture, the famous Chain Bridge.

Dinner at
the Hilton |
|
|
| |
At the
Hilton we had the entire diningroom to ourselves. The servers were
expecting a proposal to be made, and gave us impeccable service,
including 4 servers waiting on our every need, but at the same time
allowed us a very quiet and romantic dinner. As a result of an
arrangement made prior to dinner, we were sat at the table with the
grandest view of Budapest. The meal was exceptional and we had an
incredible time. Although Jill was able to enjoy her time more than
I, as I was anxiously rehearsing in my mind how I was planning to
ask her to be my wife. Finally the time had arrived. We had finished
our salads. The main course had been eaten, and dessert had been
order. I left my chair and took what seemed to be a very long stroll
around the table. I got down on one knee and nervously shared my
proposal "speech." "Jill...will you be my wife? Will you become Jill
Anne Weaver?" Yes, was her answer!!!!! What a perfect night that
was! (You can continue reading our story and looking at our pictures
